The Houston Area Panhellenic Association's Philanthropic ArmThe Houston Alumnae Panhellenic Foundation was founded in 1987 in memory of Anna K. Chase, Delta Zeta, the first President of the Houston Alumnae Panhellenic Association (HAPA). Scholarships were given long before the dream of establishing a Foundation was realized. The non-profit Foundation, is HAPA's philanthropic arm, raising much needed scholarship funds. The Houston Alumnae Panhellenic Foundation fulfills its purposes by hosting a fund-raising luncheon each spring and through donations from individuals and companies. The proceeds support scholarships for deserving young collegians. Since its inception, the Houston Alumnae Panhellenic Foundation Scholarship Fund has provided more than a quarter of a million dollars ($360,000) in scholarship funds to over 250 Greek women enrolled in colleges and universities. These collegians are residents of Harris County. Often this financial aid makes the difference for many young women, enabling them to continue their college education. |
